The Community Programs Department was created to address the isolation and marginalization of individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. These programs are designed to promote the social integration, health, and well-being of individuals, which helps in developing a sense of belonging and community among residents and within the larger community.
The Community Programs team oversees the Wellness Centre at our Sherbourne site which provides a variety of services, offered by professionals, free of charge to our residents. Alternative and complementary therapies are used as integral options alongside conventional medical treatments, which help maintain the overall holistic health of people living with HIV/AIDS. The team strives to provide a variety of opportunities for residents and clients in all programs. Some of these activities are offered on a drop-in basis and others require signing up in advance.
Our Social and Recreational Programs provide access to a range of activities, services and outlets for residents/clients. The goal of these activities is to bring people together to socialize and get to know each other better while promoting an active lifestyle.
Fife House is grateful to have and operate its catering social enterprise, which empowers the lives of our peers and staff living with HIV/AIDS by providing innovative catering experiences to the community and opportunities for individuals to build their life-skills and capacities with cooking skills, knowledge and general meal preparation. Our catering team, under the direction of our Food Services Developer, are willing to meet your requests for business meetings, lunch functions, holiday treats, and corporate events. We are proud to have been serving the community since 2013. Our reasonable rates pay living wages to all our HIV positive caterers.
