We started out as a community project…

Kibbi was founded by Hong Phuc Nguyen, who migrated to Canada in 2020 and struggled working through the labyrinth of barriers to finding work. Realizing the challenges that newcomers in particular have with finding jobs, she created an app with a team of fellow immigrants, hoping to be part of the solution.

With a simple belief that as long as one has the willingness to work hard, one should be able to find a job. The concept of Kibbi is about lowering barriers to work for career starters, by making the job market more inclusive and accessible.

Kibbi is on a mission to redefine the job search experience for entry-level job seekers, many of whom are newcomers and young people. To do so would help businesses improve the success rate of their “Help Wanted” listings by connecting them with the underemployed communities and nearby job seekers.

Kibbi fue fundada por Hong Phuc Nguyen, quien emigró a Canadá en 2020 y luchó para superar el laberinto de barreras para encontrar trabajo. Al darse cuenta de los desafíos que enfrentan los recién llegados en particular para encontrar trabajo, creó una aplicación con un equipo de compañeros inmigrantes, con la esperanza de ser parte de la solución.

 Con la simple creencia de que mientras uno tenga la voluntad de trabajar duro, debería poder encontrar un trabajo. El concepto de Kibbi se trata de reducir las barreras al trabajo para quienes inician una carrera, al hacer que el mercado laboral sea más inclusivo y accesible.

Kibbi tiene la misión de redefinir la experiencia de búsqueda de empleo para los solicitantes de empleo de nivel inicial, muchos de los cuales son recién llegados y jóvenes. Hacerlo ayudaría a las empresas a mejorar la tasa de éxito de sus listados de “Se busca ayudante” al conectarlos con las comunidades subempleadas y los buscadores de empleo cercanos.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Download Kibbi app

• Visit https://kibbi.page.link/app, download and install the application

Step 2: Create Kibbi account

• Click on “I WANT A JOB”
• Go to “Profile” and click on “Login now”then “Sign Up”and create your profile.
• Complete your profile information, Work Experience and Education & Qualifications
• Upload your Resume

Step 3: Apply for the job

• Click on “Find Jobs”  in the bottom menu
• Search for jobs around you, and you can use the filter to filter Job Type “LMIA” or any other type you wish to apply to
• Open job details by clicking on the job you wish to apply to and click on “Apply Now”
